In the last four months we have witnessed the detention of people in Turkey, brutal scenes of violence against the refugees in Macedonia, erecting the fence in Hungary, then in Slovenia and Austria, as well as inhuman and illegal segregation of people by nationality. Shouldn't these scenes be a sufficient distress call? However, today we hear about plans of  arrival of specially trained police on the border and increase of the budget for an even stronger fortification of the European Union territory.

By restructuring, the "gatekeeper" FRONTEX will become the more powerful agency, the European Border and Coast Guard, which will have the power of bringing the special police on the borders of the EU countries, even without their consent. In addition, it is proposed that the budget and the new agency almost doubles to a whopping 238 million euros for this year. Is not more sly to  invest these funds in the integration policy and the fight against racism and the growing nationalist and xenophobic movements? If the basic premise of the need for "protection" limits the fear that Europe will not be able to cope with large numbers of refugees and their successful participation in society, why not focus resources in this direction?
