International conference "Good Practices in combating Hate Crimes and Hate Speech"

Centre for Peace Studies and Human Rights House Zagreb are organizing international conference "Good Practices in combating Hate Crimes and Hate Speech" to be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Croatian Journalist Association in Zagreb.

"Guidebook of good practices in combating hate crimes and hate speech" will be presented as a part of the conference, providing an overview of 24 different examples of prevention, information, public awareness, monitoring and prosecution and protection of victims of hate crime and hate speech by institutions and civil society organizations implemented throughout the European Union.

More than 100 participants from 21 EU Member States will participate in the international conference, and good practices from their countries will be discussed by speakers from Austria, Belgium, Finland, Croatia, Italy, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Spain.

The conference is organized as a part of the Against Hate project implemented by Centre for Peace Studies, Human Rights House Zagreb and Gong in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Finland and the Finnish Victim Support Association.

The working language of the conference is English with simultaneous translation into Croatian.
